Floating Monkey Bar (FMB) Obstacle - Rubber Coated Dowels

The FitBar Floating Monkey Bars are a smaller version of the obstacle that was made popular on the televised ninja TV program, and subsequently became a popular obstacle in many OCR races. The hooks in our SG-6 Floating Monkey Bars are a slight variation from the standard V-shaped receiver found in other floating monkey bars. Our hooks include rubber boots that help minimize dowel spin. We provide two options for bars: our SG-7 Wood Dowels and our SG-8 Rubber Coated Dowels. The rubber on the SG-8 keeps the dowel spin to a minimum so this is a great option for ninja-newbies, kid ninja obstacle warriors, or anyone just getting into obstacle course racing. The SG-8 are also easier on your hands so you can train obstacles all day without hand callus rips. You can purchase extra pairs of the SG-7 and the SG-8 dowels.

The SG-6 Floating Monkey Bars are sold in quantities of two or five with dowels, and extra units can be purchased so you can get any quantity. We recommend a minimum of five Floating Monkey Bars so you can have a minimum of three transfers if you start with two dowels in place. This will provide a true gibbons experience, and you can do transfers just like the gibbons monkeys in the jungle!

Mounting the SG-6 is easy – just attach to your horizontal monkey bar via two ninja straps and clips looped through the eye nuts. If you need straps, we sell our 18” double-looped EG-4 Straps. Attaching to your monkey bar with two straps keeps the Floating Monkey Bars parallel to the bars and each other. For even greater obstacle challenge, attach with a single strap so the unit can rotate, requiring more precise arm and body movements. The hooks can be oriented either towards, or away from, the direction of movement, and you can mix it up for additional challenge. For safety reasons, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND laches to the SG-6. The SG-6 Floating Monkey Bars makes for an excellent addition to your ninja gym or your obstacle course training rig, allowing you to mix up your obstacle and ninja obstacle training.
